Billy Slone

Bill Slone passed away peacefully at his home on May 16, 2022, at the age of 78. His battle with cancer showed his courage in facing challenges that come. Despite the pain he endured he came out a hero and stayed strong through the very end.

Bill is preceded in death by his father, Otis Slone and his mother Frugie Warnick; a brother and two sisters. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Jean, who he loved at first sight, and shared their love for 57 years. His son and daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and countless friends.

Bill loved to laugh, make jokes, and had a heart of gold. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and forgiving nature, and never hesitated to let people know he loved them. He had a great love for music that would shine through when he sang and played the guitar. He has opened up for Little Jimmy Dickens and played with some great musicians, Charlie Collins, and Red Harrison. His other favorite pastime was riding his Harley with family and friends.

On March 1, 1972, Bill started up his own business under the name Slone's Automotive that is still in business today, 50 years later. He has made many friends over the years and very close relationships with employees who worked for him over the years, some who have become family.

Bill never failed to put his family first, and would make the time he had with the family "quality time," playing basketball, boating, camping, fishing, and every Sunday home by 7 PM to watch Wonderful World of Disney.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, May 23, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439. Visitation will be held the night prior on Sunday, May 22 from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Bill will be laid to rest at Miami Valley Memory Gardens following services.
