Preston, Billie J., age 76, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013.
Billie was preceded in death by his parents John and Abbie Maye Preston, his wife of 25 years Virda, brother Mike, sisters Janet and Marilyn, son Gregory, and grandson Joshua.
Billie is survived by five children, Brian (Shirley) Preston, Jim (Michele) Preston, Russell (Ellen) Beedy, James Beedy, Karen "Beth" Beedy;13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother Gary (Ruby) Preston; and by his extended family and many good friends.
He was a beloved father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Billie was a great outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing and teaching his grandchildren who he called his "little fishing buddies" how to fish. He was a Navy Veteran serving his country proudly from 1956-1961. Billie was retired from Vernay Laboratory after 30 years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America,(Tecumseh Council), Springfield, OH in Billie's memory.
