Bill F. Scott, age 87, of Springboro, Ohio, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, left this world to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, November 28th, 2022.
He was preceded in death by the parents who raised him, Henry and Louise Scott.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie Scott; two daughters, Senita Scott and Michel Goode (Tim); four granddaughters, Melissa Rizer (Tyler), Senita Boone (Frank) Jade Ommert (Jeremy), Brittany Parke (Jarrod); eight great-grandchildren, Austin Rizer, Brayden Rizer, Gracie Rizer, Bonnie June Rizer, Avery Parke, Emily Ommert, Carter Ommert, and Emily Kessler.
Bill and Bonnie met on a blind date and were married for 65 years. He taught his family many things, and one of them was how to love unconditionally. Bill was an excellent example in doing so, and everyone would do well to follow in his footsteps.
Bill was a Kentucky National Guardsman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Springboro as well as a 32nd degree Mason and a Past Master Mason of his lodge, St. John's Lodge. Bill was a member of the Scottish Rite, was a Shriner and a member of the Antioch Shrine. Bill enjoyed helping with the Antioch Shrine Circus when it came to Dayton and participating in parades throughout the summer. He was also a member of the Kentucky Colonels.
Bill loved to be outdoors and an inside career was not for him. He was an over-the-road truck driver and retired from ABF Freight. He drove for 32 years, through 48 states and over 200, 000 miles. Some of Bill's friends called him "Scotty", and his CB handle was "Briar".
Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trap shooting. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and iff Bill and his partner were losing while playing "Rook", his famous line was, "it is about even". You wouldn't find Bill sitting much, but when you did he was usually watching "Gunsmoke" or old Western movies.
Bill never met a stranger and was always there to help anyone he could. He was easy-going and he always had a positive outlook. If you needed a pick me up moment, being with Bill would do it for you.
Anyone who knew Bill, knew he had a strong work ethic. Bill's desire, which he expressed to his daughters, was to make life easier and better for them and family coming after him. His family feels Bill is doing the same now in Heaven helping get things ready for his family members' arrival. Bill will be missed by those he left behind.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
