William S. "Bill" Routt, age 72, of Enon, passed away December 20, 2013.
He was born on March 20, 1941 in Washington, D.C. to the late Covert and Winifred (Standing) Routt.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Marilyn E. (Jones) Routt; children: Mark (& Alison) Routt, Mary Katherine Routt, Amy Prosser and Michelle (& Anthony) Mariscano; grandchildren: Matthew, Micah and Mason Routt, Garrett, MacKensie and Madison Prosser, Joshua and Caleb Smith, and Dominic Mariscano. He is also survived by his brothers: James (& Donna) Routt and David (& Toni) Routt; and sister, Carol (& Mike) Caldwell; along with dear friends: Sam & Carolyn Oliver and many other family and friends.
He graduated from Sonora High School in 1959, received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Kentucky in 1964, and later earned his Master's Degree. He honorable served in the USAF 1964-1969. Bill retired from RTA in 2005. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Bill had a great love of Harley Davidson motorcycles and Trains. Enjoying scenic train trips was a vacation routine.
Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM, Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH.
A funeral service will be held the following day at 11 am, December 27, 2013 at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Church, 491 W. Hyde Rd., Yellow Springs. Pastor Kenneth Moore officiating.
Burial at Enon Cemetery.
If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to the church or Vitas Hospice.
