Bill Elam

Bill Elam, age 90 of Xenia, formerly of Huber Heights, passed away March 23, 2012. He was born June 22, 1921 in Cannel City, KY to the late Greene and Dora Elam. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; son, Bill Elam, Jr. "Pete"; 3 brothers and one sister.

Bill is survived by children: Charles (Kay) Nickell, Gary (Ann) Elam, Danny (Zada) Elam, Ralph Elam and Sue (Jim) Yates; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 2 sisters; 4 brothers; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, including special friend, Bob Burch.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII. Bill was a member of Operating Engineers and operated heavy equipment for more than 50 years.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday. Burial to follow at West Charleston Cemetery.
