Beverly K. "Bev" VanPelt, age 68 of Xenia, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She was born May 12, 1949 in St Johns, Canada to Fredrick and Lola (Bowman) Harker.
Bev was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia. She enjoyed gardening, going to garage sales and collecting owls. Bev enjoyed spending times with her girls, her grandchildren and grandpets. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Bev is survived by her mother, Lola; two daughters, MaryAnn G. (Jamison) Shinkle and Esther K. VanPelt; a half daughter, Ginny (Tim) Teeple; four grandchildren, Tyler and Alexa Teeple and Erica and Dominick Shinkle; a sister, Ann (Dave) Broyles; three brothers, Dan Harker, Jeff (Nancy) Harker and Mark Harker; and other numerous family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father; and her husband, Rex D. VanPelt.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on April 20, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Although Bev had a love of gardening and flowers, her personal request is for family and friends to donate to the charity of their choice in her memory.
