Tipton, Beverly "Tip", age 83 of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.
Tip retired from the City of Dayton Fire Department with over 32 years of service, he was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving in WWII. He was a long time member of New Hope United Methodist Church (formerly Otterbein UMC) and he was a very active member of the Emmaus community and Kyros Ministry.
Tip was born November 15, 1927 in Furnas, Kentucky to the late Stormy and Anna Tipton. Tip is survived by his wife of 62 years: Lois H. Tipton; daughter: Patricia Tremblay; granddaughters: Jaime L. (Darrell) Berry, Kristina Wilson, Sarah (Kurtis) Wolf; great grandchildren: Drake Berry, Gabriel, Gavin & Grace Wolf; sisters: Ruby (Verne) Meyer, Betty Gregory, Imogene (Denver) Wright; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Vernon & Randall Tipton.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex Bell Road. The family will be receiving friends at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church in memory of Tip.
