Beverly Gene Schooler, age 64 of Vandalia, formerly a resident of Voca Homes of Centerville, passed away January 21, 2014. He was born May 14, 1949 in Oneida, KY to the late Chester and Dorothy Schooler.
Beverly is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: Carl and Jeanette Schooler; sister, Ruby Schooler and David Collins; nephews: Carl Schooler, Jr. and Kerry Dubois, Danny Schooler and Jonathan Terlinde; other great nephews and cousins.
Beverly loved the Wizard of Oz, the Cleveland Browns and was an avid baseball card collector. Bev loved visiting and talking with people; he never knew a stranger and was a friend to all.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to either U.R.S. or Tridia Hospice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Crossroads Rehab and Nursing Center and Tridia Hospice for their loving care.
