Beverly Kay Combs

Beverly Kay (Newman) Combs, 67, of Kettering, passed away June 12, 2016. Beverly was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 26, 1949 to the late Kenneth and Marjorie Newman. She attended Stivers High School where she met and married Carl Combs. Beverly was a homemaker in addition to working at various jobs. In her free time, she enjoyed drinking coffee on her lanai and reading her cookbooks. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Dayton.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Samantha Gephart and her brother Gerald Newman.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Carl Combs, son, Terry (Karin) Combs; daughter, Carla (Doug) Combs; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Matthew), Tyler, James (Ashley), Travis (Brittany), Ryan (Brittany), Kenneth (Amy), Timothy (Kora), Matthew (Chyanne), Nicholas (Ashley), James (Jessica); 16 great grandchildren; brother, Dale (Debbie) Newman; sister, Nora (Mike) Coffey; and several other relatives and special friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where funeral services will follow on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Parish, 411 East 2nd Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402. Burial will be at Willow View Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Kettering Medical Center, Hospice of Dayton, In & Out Java, Hope Healthcare and Stivers High School Alumni. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family for the purchase of a memorial bench in honor of Beverly.
