Beulah Mae Payne "Sis", age 84, of West Alexandria, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 14, 2011 at home after a long, courageous battle with Parkinsons and Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Welborn, Kentucky, on July 7, 1926, to Edgar and Effie (Pennington) Jones.
She became the wife of Henry Lee Payne on July 7, 1943. They were married for 41 years when Henry Lee went home to be with the Lord in 1984.
Beulah loved the Lord and her family. She served the Lord for many years at the First Baptist Church of Germantown as teacher, VBS director and bus worker. She later was a member of Moraine Heights Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church in West Carrollton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, mother and father-in-law, 3 brothers, 2 brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law.
Beulah is survived by 1 brother, 2 sisters, 3 sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.
Also survived by her 5 children; Donald Lee (Sharon) Payne of Bossier City, Louisiana, Joyce (Fred) Norris and Vicki Baker of New Lebanon, Ohio, Patti (Ron) Etter of West Alexandria, Ohio and Pam (Mike) Fister of Dayton, Ohio.
She is also survived by her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Brendan (Suzie) Jack and Emma Payne, Michelle(Dee) Canon and Christian Coker, Jason(Heidi) Emily and Elizabeth Etter, Stephanie (Chad) Jaden and Gracen Vorhis, Doug (Karyn) Melanie and Jordan Baker, Justin (Sonnie) Mackenzie Fister, Jennifer (Chad) Richards, Kyle (Brittany) Etter, and Drew Etter.
Special thanks to the aides and nurses who gave Beulah special care and compassion for many years from the Hospice of Dayton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). Visitation will be held from 10am until the time of the service on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 11am at the funeral home, with Rev. Alan Coker officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
