Betty Jean Woods was born July 11, 1947 in Montgomery Alabama to the late John Henry King and Torie Bell King. She moved to Anderson, IN where she attended and graduated from Anderson HS. She later met and married Arthur Leo Woods and moved to Dayton, OH where she resided most of her adult life.
Betty is survived by one daughter Coretta Lynn (GJ) Tengesdahl of Dayton, OH, four grandsons Jared (Tiphani) of Columbus, OH and Evan, Peyton and Paxton Tengesdahl of Dayton, OH, one sister Dorothy Avery of Dayton, OH, one sister-n-law Lexie Ruth King of Anderson, IN, a host of nieces and nephews in Anderson, IN, Detroit, MI, Bear, DE, Bolivar, TN and Dayton, OH, special friends and prayer partners Bertha, Mary, Nina and Linda.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings, including 4 sisters Mammie Lee Horne, Madell Remson, Maggie Blackmon, Clara Bell King and 6 brothers Willie James King, John Henry King Jr., Willie B. Gibson, Johnnie B. Gibson, Johnnie Lee King and Arthur McCullough, brother and sister-n-laws and a host of other relatives.
Betty worked for the VA Hospital part-time for 30 years where she retired from in 2007. She accepted Christ as an early age and attended Mt. Olivet Church of God In Christ for most of her adult life. She loved rose bushes and plants, but not more than cooking for her 4 boys and attending their sporting events. She professed going home to Heaven and we know that she is pain free resting in God's arms.
