Betty R. Smith

Betty R. Smith, age 80, of Dayton, OH passed away July 1, 2020. Betty was born in Barnsville, Georgia on January 4, 1940 to B.J and Louise Mann.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and a spectacular person. She did not see a flaw in anyone. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a very talented flower arranger where she created art with her hands and imagination. She had a beautiful smile where she would light up a room.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 50 plus years, James Smith aka Catfish, and great grandson Brandon Lee Smith, Jr.

Betty is survived by her son, Vance E. Smith; daughters, Judy K. Smith (Roland Nicholson, Sr.), and Jamie Ross (Mark D. Ross); grandchildren, Brandon L. Smith, Marcus D. Ross, and Roland R. Nicholson, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jaylen Smith, Bria Smith, Raniah Nicholson, and Royal Nicholson; sisters, Annette Mclemore, Barbara Jean Hurt, Gwendolyn Yarbrough, and Evelyn Ferguson; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - North Chapel 4104 Needmore Rd Dayton, OH where services will begin at 12:00 pm with Rev. Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
