In Loving Memory
Betty Lou (McGuire) Patterson, Beloved Matriarch of our Family,
She was born October 3, 1933 in Berea, Kentucky to Jesse (Short) McGuire and William E. McGuire. Although she moved to Dayton, Ohio at an early age with her family, Berea always held a special place in her heart.
Our mother was a truly exceptional woman that overcame hardship and heartache to work 40 years and raise 4 children. She was an avid reader and loved to play video games with her grandchildren and enjoyed playing euchre at family functions.
The Lord chose to take her home on January 9, 2022. She was 88 years old.
She will always be remembered for her loving ways and wonderful mind. She will be missed every single day, but she is a part of us always and forever.
In addition to her parents, mom was preceded in death by her sisters: E. Faye Hamrick (Winn), Norma J. Coleman and Barbara A. Snavely (James).
She leaves behind daughters Melanie Newsom, Rebecca Newsom, Tracey Patterson, and son Dwight D. Newsom ; grandchildren, Brad Newsom (Kim), Jessica Newsom (Brandon), Jerry Crum, Mailee Patterson (Ben), Samuel Patterson, Kaylin Winters, Erik Butler; 6 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Colin, Avery, Lilian, Jerry, Lamiah; and loving brother-in-law Rev. Ronald Coleman.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of a service celebrating her life at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel , 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. Burial will follow at Trissel Cemetery.
