Betty M. Pittman

PITTMAN, Betty M., passed away on September 22, 2010 at age 81. She was born in Sullivan, Indiana on January 14th 1929. She was the only child of Noah and Wilhelmina Scott, who preceded her in death.

She was married to Billy G. Pittman, who survives her, on September 15th 1950. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary just a week ago. Together they raised three children, Michael E. Pittman (Nancy), of Bellbrook, Ohio, John C. Pittman (Chris), of Milford, Ohio, and Jane E. Velez (Lawrence), of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Paul Pittman, and friend, Kathleen Smith, Abby Lynn Pittman and Ryan B. Pittman, Dawn Grooms, Jeremy Grooms, Keirsten Velez, Olivia Velez, Garret Velez, and Lauren Velez, and four great grandchildren, Kyle Grooms, Zachary Grooms, John Gabriel Grooms, and Alex Grooms.

Betty was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family dearly. For some 30 years our entire family has taken an annual vacation together to show our love for each other and to develop close family relationships with our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Betty has also been a member of the Belmont Church of Christ since 1954.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Tom Marcum II officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm on Friday, September 24, 2010 at the funeral home.
