Betty Marlene (Wray) Baum, born January 6, 1937 in New Carlisle, Ohio passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on January 18, 2025
Betty was a receptionist and worked in medical records for 56 years, ultimately retiring at the age of 80. She attended Brandt United Methodist Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, partner, and friend. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, and daily walks with friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harley Reed Baum Jr. of 32 years; her parents, Olen and Martha (Brubaker) Wray; her son, James Allen Baum; sister, Mary (Wray) Alexander; and long time companion, Tom Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Patrice) Baum of Manitou Springs, Colorado and Jeff (Denise) Baum of Troy, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Karen Henry Baum of Richmond, Kentucky; brother, William (Joan) Wray of Fairborn, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Abby (Bryan) Ramos, Zachary (Beth) Baum, Emily Baum Brian, Andrea Baum, and Erin (Brad) King; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored; as well as life-long friends and colleagues.
A celebration will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the American Legion in Tipp City, Ohio from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio Hospice in Betty's name.
