Betty L. Pelphrey

Betty LaNell Pelphrey, 78, passed away April 30, 2014 at her home. She was born on January 2, 1936 in Johnson County, KY to the late James Earl and Cloma (Estep) McKenzie. Betty attended Hickory Grove United Baptist Church. Betty was a sweet lady, who will be missed. She always had a smile and a kind word. She is survived by daughter, Cara Jeanette Pelphrey; siblings, Phyllis (Jack) Pelphrey, Donlyn Cantrell and Gail (Danny) Spradlin; sister-n-law, Betty Evelyn and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of great neighbors and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, David "Pierce" Pelphrey and brothers, James O. and Charles A. McKenzie. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May2, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home North Chapel 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville, KY. The family will be receiving friends Saturday from 12:30 until time of service. Burial will follow at Johnson County Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
