BALLARD, Betty L., age 68, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 29, 1939 in Mineral Ridge, Ohio to the late Joseph Phillips and Adda Wilbur. Betty was a member of Creekside Community Church and a retired employee of Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a loving mom and devoted grandma. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years Eugene Ballard; granddaughter Allison Nichole May; and brother Gerald Phillips. Betty is survived by her children Tammie (Eric) Sharp, Sherrie (John) Ford, Kathy (Steven) May; grandchildren Kara Ford, James May, Lauren May, Aaron Ford, Heather Sharp, Kimberly Ford, Marissa May; sister Mary Anna Baringer; sister-in-law Lois Ann Phillips; and many other friends and family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 29 2008 from 5-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Creekside Community Church (4111 Mapleview Dr., Dayton, OH 45432). Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in lieu of flowers.
