Betty J. Kirchmer

Kirchmer, Betty J. (Schaefer), 93, of Centerville, passed away January 25, 2018.

Betty devoted her life to God and to helping others through teaching dance and furthering her ministry through performing Liturgical Dance. Betty managed and choreographed the UD Flyerettes during the 1950s, including a performance during the NIT at Madison Square Garden. She was a Dayton Daily News Top Women of the Year in 1963. Betty loved to play cards and to fish with her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Tom Kirchmer in August 2017, two daughters, Lisa and Julie.

Betty is survived by her six children, Selene (Frank) Reedy, Jeff (Connie) Kirchmer, Leslie (Rick) Iannarino, Brian (Christie) Kirchmer, Tim (Lynn) Kirchmer, Mark (Ann) Kirchmer; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 10:30am until 12:00pm at St. Leonard Senior Community 8100 Clyo Rd., Centerville, where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00pm. Interment at Calvary Cemetery immediately following mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Betty's memory. Arrangements in care of Newcomer, South Chapel.
