Betty S. Jones, age 81 of Tipp City, passed away April 5, 2018. She was born March 11, 1937 in Beckley, WV to the late Otha and Frances (Adkins) Rountree. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by sisters, Rose Huffman and Lois King; brother, Charles Rountree.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 55 years, Floyd Jones; children, Angela White, Alesia (Lavell) Oglesby and Anthony Jones; grandchildren, Ariel Oglesby, Shann (James) Stout, Jesa Oglesby and Angel White; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Sadie; sisters, Barbara (Paul) Green and Patti Bolen; brothers, Harold (Donna) Rountree and J.R. (Carol) Rountree; high school friend, Anna and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Betty had a good Christian faith and always enjoyed singing gospel. She was a member of The Rountree Sisters and The Joneses singing groups. Betty had a radio show for many years known as "Keeping Up with the Joneses". She wrote a couple of gospel songs, "Amazing Love" and "When I Hear the Trumpet Blow" that was recorded by The Joneses.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. A funeral service will begin at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, April 10 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
