Betty Jean Horstman (nee Castle) passed away surrounded by her family on her favorite holiday, Christmas, December, 25, 2011. She was born on June 15, 1934. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nettie Castle, her father, Roy Castle, and her brother, Bill Castle. Betty is survived by her brothers, Ron and Robert Castle; her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jennifer Horstman; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Randy Hudgins; her daughter, Debbie Horstman; grandchildren Kelly Wargo and husband Brad; Joe Hudgins and wife Becky; Ben Horstman, Ryan Hudgins, Eric Hudgins, Steven Horstman, Chad Hudgins, and Jon Horstman; great-grandchildren Todd Wilson, Grace Wilson, Jasmine Hampton, Eli Hudgins and Braden Horstman. Betty was a graduate of Miami Jacobs Junior College in Dayton. She was a devout Catholic, a member of Immaculate Conception parish, and a member the Rosary Altar Society. She was also active in the Democratic Club of Dayton. She was a wonderful mother and a beautiful person, and will be missed by her extended family the rest of their lives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2300 S. Smithville Road, Dayton, Ohio with Reverend Joseph Satish Celebrant. Interment will follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Kettering. The family will receive friends AT CHURCH on Thursday morning from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel).
