Betty J. Boren

Betty J. (Hopkins) Boren, passed away on June 22, 2016 at her home in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on September 5, 1928 to Orin L. and Irma R. Hopkins in Kingston, Ohio.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Boren, both of her parents, brother Clarence "Shorty" Hopkins, brother Robert "Bobbie" Hopkins, brother Anton "Keith" Hopkins, sister Phyllis I. (Hopkins) Shepherd, daughter Janet G. (Boren) Wilson, grandson Gregory W. Fletcher and great granddaughter Autumn S. Boren.

She is survived by her loving children Connie J. (Boren) Fletcher and Chris E. Boren, both of Dayton, Ohio. Other survivors include brother James E. Hopkins of Silver Valley, Idaho, sister Penelope J. (George) Mavridoglou of Cincinnati, Ohio and David G. (Sabrina) Campbell of Lyons, Georgia. Betty also leaves behind five grandsons: Jeffrey W. (Vanessa) Fletcher, Michael R. Fletcher, Aaron C. (Rose) Boren, Walter L. (Becky) Wilson IV, Andrew S. Boren; fifteen great grandsons: Zachary W. (Stephanie) Fletcher, Sean P. Fletcher, Branden P. (Stephanie) Fletcher, Evan H. Fletcher, Ayden M. Fletcher, Austin L. Fletcher, Logan S. Fletcher, Blake L. Wilson, Jackson L. Wilson, Mason J. Wilkson, Jake L. Wilkson, Jesse R. Wilkson, Luke C. Boren, Jacob R. Boren, Jaydyn C. Boren; three grand daughters: Amanda J. Boren, Betsy J. (James) Wilkson, Angela R. Boren; nine great granddaughters: Athenia M. Fletcher, Sierra R. Fletcher, Gabrielle N. Fletcher, Annemarie L. Fletcher, Maddison G. Wilson, Zoe M. Wilkson, Haylee R. Boren, Layla R. Boren, Brittany N. (Andrew) Dounouk.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday at Scioto Memorial Park, Scioto County, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations to the American Cancer Society be made.
