Betty Gibson

June 24, 1937 — October 25, 2014

Betty Gibson, age 77 of Centerville, passed away October 25, 2014. She was born June 24, 1937 in Crossville, TN to the late Hubert and Trannie Copeland. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by brothers: Clyde, Freeman, Houston and Jerry; and sisters: Jolene and Maxine.

Betty is survived by her children: Beverly (David) Allison, Gary (June) Gibson, Jeffrey (Tess) Gibson and Michelle (Daniel) Forshaw; grandchildren: Jessica, Jordan, Alan, Aaron, Anna and Abigail; brother, Chester; sisters: Christina, Hannah and Mary "Mudgie"; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Betty was a member of Central and Parkview Church of the Nazarene and was a former employee at Miami Valley Hospital. She was a loving mother and grandmother who shared her love of God and music with her family. Betty was a resident of Liberty Retirement Community and enjoyed speaking with her caregivers and residents there.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Road, Centerville, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2-3 pm. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd.
