Betty Jo (Evans) Owens

Owens, Betty Jo (Evans), age 84, of West Carrollton, Ohio met her Savior and God- Jesus Christ-face to face as she passed away peacefully with her family beside her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Pearlie (Madon) Evans, her son, Jeffery Todd Owens, and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 62 years, Claude Owens; son, Tim Owens (Robin Paul) of Speedwell, TN, daughter, Sheila (Rick) Baker of West Carrollton, son, Kent Owens of Kingsport, TN, daughter-in-law, Shelly Owens of West Carrollton, OH; grandchildren, Vanessa (Dave) Eubank, Lucas (Megan) Baker, Rachel Johnston, Jesse Owens, Justin (Jessica) Owens, Chelsea (Wyatt) Smith, Rebecca Owens, Melinda Owens, Haley Owens, and 15 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Guy Evans and Lowell Evans of Speedwell, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was born on December 10, 1934 in Speedwell, Tennessee and married Claude on August 25, 1956 in Liberty, Indiana. She was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years at several churches in Dayton, Ohio. She loved to attend church and serving others was her joy in life. She was a member of First Baptist Church West Carrollton.

Visitation services will be held from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at First Baptist Church West Carrollton, 705 E. Elm St., West Carrollton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, March 22, 2019 at First Baptist Church West Carrollton. Officiating her service will be her grandson, Lucas Baker, her nephew, Ronald Brown, and her Pastor Scott Wells. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton, Ohio.
