Betty Jean Dunlap

Betty Jean Dunlap, age 81, of Middletown, passed away on January 4, 2022, at Friendship Village. She was born in Middletown, Ohio, on August 21, 1940, the daughter Viola Herndon.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her beloved husband, Bill Dunlap; her infant daughter, Paulette Dunlap; siblings, Teddy Herndon, Robert Herndon and Charles Herndon; nephew, Charles Herndon, II; and her niece, Candace Allen.

Betty is survived by her loving sisters, Joyce Byrd and Velma Herndon; sisters-in-law, Patricia Herndon and Shirley Herndon; dear childhood friend, Norma Smith; her "adopted" daughter, Mae Dell; special friends, Thyra Foster and Carolyn Joyner; and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Betty retired from Lackland Air Force Base, where she was a Civilian employee for many years. Prior to her employment with Lackland AFB, she worked for many years at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She was a member of Summit Christian Church and was also a member of the Voices of Summit choir with the church. Betty also served in the Women's Ministry Organization, the Dorcus Group. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, reading and serving her Church. Betty was always known for how she presented herself and her style. She was lovingly referred to as "Aunt Flo", due to her flowing dresses she was known to wear. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Summit Christian Church, 4021 Denlinger Rd, Trotwood, OH, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
