Betty Combs

COMBS, Betty Jean (Tackett)
Age 76 of Xenia, OH, passed away peacefully Saturday evening¸ December 11, 2010 at Greene County Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born November 3, 1934 in South Charleston, WV, she was the eldest daughter of the late Theodore and Claire Tackett (Harless). Betty's four brothers, sisters and their spouses are: Donald Tackett and wife Margie; Brenda White and husband Clifford; Juanita Smith and husband Clarence; and Douglas Tackett.

Mrs. Combs was a 1952 graduate of South Charleston High School and was a community volunteer as an election poll worker, a PTA and garden club president. Betty was a Christian wife, active mother and wonderful homemaker for over 58 years.
She was a faithful member of the Park Avenue Church of Christ in Charleston, WV; Carlisle Church of Christ, Carlisle, PA; and Knollwood Church of Christ in Beavercreek, OH.

Surviving is her husband of 58 years: Cloyd W. Combs, whom she married February 7, 1953; three daughters: Paula Tackett and her husband Joe, of Clinton, TN; Valerie Rose and her husband Allen, of Dunbar, WV; Lisa Brodbeck and her husband Steve of Carrollton, TX; a son, Jeffery Combs of Waldorf, MD; 9 grandchildren: Clint and Clay Goodpasture; Kelli, Megan and Benjamin Combs; Brooke and Paige Brodbeck; Dustin Workman; Abigail and Patrick Rose; 1 great grandchild: Olivia Goodpasture.


Viewing will commence at 12:00 p.m. with memorial services following at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Homes, Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432.
