Betty Burton

Betty Fay Burton, age 83 of Vandalia, passed away March 3, 2014. She was born June 13, 1930 in Wise, Virginia to the late Arthur and Lola Owens. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Owens.

Betty is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Samuel Burton; daughters: Penni Sears and Roxanne (Michael) Vanover; grandchildren: Holland Sears, Trint Vanover and his girlfriend, Holly Wagonbach, Tyler Vanover and his wife, Teresa Heis-Vanover; great grandchildren: Josie Grace Vanover and Cooper Michael Vanover.

Betty was a member of the Eastern Star in Englewood and AmVets Post 99 in Vandalia.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made in Betty's memory to either Acclaim Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
