Betty B. Vargo
Age 87, of Tipp City, formerly of Dayton, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Frank Vargo, in 2003; her parents, Charles & Mable (Doughty) Mapes; one brother, John Doughty; and by one grandson, Jon Michael Anderson.
Betty is survived by three children, Judi (Jerry) Anderson, Charles Vargo & Susan Vargo; two grandchildren, Amanda (Mitch) Lawson & Jenny (A. J.) Morse; and by two great grandchildren, Sam Lawson & Wesley Morse.
Betty was a long-time member of the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church and volunteered for many years at the former Dayton State Hospital. During WW II she worked at Wright-Patterson AFB in a variety of positions, including Engineering Records and as a messenger.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday (9/1) at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
The family suggests that contributions be made in memory of Betty to Hospice of Miami County. They would also like to thank the nurses and staff of Spring Meade Health Center for the loving care they provided to Betty.
