Betty Jane Alexander-Vrooman, 87, of Miamisburg, passed away on December 16, 2018.
She was born on July 14, 1931 to John and Lillian (Griffith) Warcop in Philadelphia, PA, where she spent the early years of her life. In 1953, she married, then moved to Ohio, and later began working as a full-time mother and as an Apartment Manager for over 50 years.
On October 8, 2015, she married Peter Vrooman. Betty and Peter lived in Miamisburg, Ohio.
She was a member of Spinning Road Baptist Church for most of her life. She was involved with the AWANA Program, Women's Bible Study, and participated widely in various church activities. Betty loved playing double deck Pinochle in her free time at Washington Township Senior Center and especially at the Lathram Senior Center.
At home, she enjoyed watching game shows, playing games on her computer and tablet, and playing euchre (and other games) with her family and friends.
Betty loved attending outdoor concerts at the Greene and dining at a variety of restaurants, especially J. Alexander's Redland Grill, where she almost always ordered their carrot cake. She had a fondness for candy snacks and her favorite was Peppermint Sticks.
Betty is survived by her loving Children, Debra Snider and Donald (Donna) Alexander; Grandchildren, Eric Alexander and Meredith (Anthony) Woodill; Special Niece, Dawn (Jerry) Gasper; several Nieces and Nephews from Philadelphia, PA; and many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her Son, Michael Alexander; Ex-Husband, Victor Alexander; Son-In-Law, David Snider; Husband, Peter Vrooman; Parents, Lillian and John Warcop; Sisters, Edna and Clara; and Brother, Fran.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, 11:00 am at Spinning Road Baptist Church (538 Spinning Rd, Dayton, OH 45431) with Pastor Scott Goodman, officiating.
A luncheon will follow the Memorial Service in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
