Betty Joan Adams, age 90 of Xenia, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024. She was born August 30, 1933 in Cedarville, Ohio. She was the sole remaining offspring of Edward and Nettie Melton.
Betty worked at DESC as a defense contract officer for over 35 years. She was a Commissioned Minister of the First United Christian Church of Xenia. She enjoyed gardening, reading and sharing God's word with others. In her spare time, she traveled the world. She attended congregational assemblies and workshops. She served her church until her illness prevented her from serving. Adult Conference was a favorite which she always attended.
Betty is survived by her Daughter, Faye Elizabeth Bridges; Two Sons, Howard Adams and David Adams; 4 grandchildren; Andrew (Ilan Goldman) Adams, JodI (Cleo) Bridges, Jazmin Hubbert and Jamal Bridges and 4 great grandchildren; Zadriuna Bridges, Tannesse Bridges, Scarlett Bridges and Ezekiel Constant. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Betty's honor as well as to the Christian Church in Ohio, their Adult Conference (10335 Maple Dell Rd., Marysville OH 43040).
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a service at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Betty will be laid to rest at Massies Creek Cemetery in Cedarville, Ohio following the service.
