In Loving Memory of our Mother, Bessie (Dunn) Smith. Sunrise January 21, 1934 to Sunset March 13, 2014.
Our Mother fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease and leaves behind a sadness and void in many hearts. She was the last survivor of thirteen children born to the late Sammy and Rova Dunn. Bessie was a resident of Grafton Oaks Nursing Home, and during her stay there, made many friends.
She is preceded in death with her late husband, Lloyd Smith. Bessie is survived by her children, David (Marlene) Dunn of Red Fox, KY, Bobby Smith, Michael (Robin) Smith, Betty Smith and Mark Smith all of Dayton and is sadly missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Over the years Mother touched a lot of hearts with her humor and was blessed with many friends new and old. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and cooking.
A special thanks to all of Mother's staff at Grafton Oaks Nursing Home and Hospice of Dayton. A very special Thanks to Tammy Draughn, whom Mother loved and adored and to her grandson, Cody Wagner who assisted in the care of Mother briefly. Mother may be gone physically but forever lives in our hearts. We love you.
Visitation from 12-1 PM Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton where funeral services will begin at 1 PM Thursday.
