McKENNA, Beryl R., born on March 1, 1934, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday, April 27, 2009. He was the only child of the late Buster R. Brown and Helen McKenna. He is preceded in death by his son, David McKenna and granddaughter, Angel Brumitt. He leaves behind the one true love of his life and wife of 54 years, Rose McKenna; children, Daniel (Becky) McKenna, Kathy (Jack) Brumitt, Linda McKenna, Karen (Warren) Sizemore, Annette (Keith) Goudy, and Trudy (Calvin) Cambell. He was also a grandpa to 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and had numerous nieces and nephews. He will not only be remembered for his funny stories and huge heart, but also for the love that he instilled in his whole family. He had many friends and family to which he touched their lives and hearts. He was a decorated hero of the Army during the Korean War and a forty year member of the Alco-Aides Club, where he served on the board. He loved John Wayne movies and anything about history. He worked hard all of his life as a welder and was defined as a great husband and father. Family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering from 9:30 am – 10:30 am on Thursday, April 30, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 310 Allen St., Dayton. Father John Krumm as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors. He and his family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital and the Hospice of Dayton for all their help and care during his illness.
