Bertha J. Wolfe, "Bert", age 87, of Carlisle, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 3, 2023.
She was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky, 1 of 12 children. Bert was a gifted Seamstress. She began working out of her home for family and friends and in later years worked at Suttman's Clothing in Miamisburg, Ohio. Bert was a devoted Christian and spent years teaching Sunday School and serving the church in any capacity needed. Most recently, she was a member of the Dixie Hwy Christian Center in Franklin, Ohio. Bert was also a gifted baker, cook and candy maker, often gifting her delicious treats to others. Bert always put everybody before her self, serving others was her greatest legacy. She was a patient and loving woman, devoted wife and mother.
Bert was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Mae Turner, her infant daughter Judy Carol Wolfe, her brothers Edward Turner, Kenneth Turner, and her sisters Buelah (Stanley) Riley, Alene (Cotton) Milligan.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Charles Wolfe; her three children, Charlene (Fred Lenz) Evans, Michael (Peggy) Wolfe, and Cynthia (Jeff) Crider; 8 grandchildren, Amanda (Joseph) Montag, John Evans, Brittany Wolfe, Kristin Wolfe, Alexandra Scanlon, Zachary Baker, Cassie (Ryan Alvey) Crider, and Jennifer (Roy) Schweitzer, and 22 great-grandchildren. Bert is also survived by her siblings, Kay (David) Bowling, Bernice (Victor) Holland, Carol (Raymond) Langford, Sue (Don) Mosley, Joyce (Ray) Smith, Daniel Turner, and Dean (Becky) Turner, along with many nieces, nephews and her church family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 10:00 am until time of the service at 12:00 pm, at Dixie Hwy Christian Center, 5287 S. Dixie Hwy, Franklin, Ohio 45005, with Pastor David Bowling officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, Ohio.
