On Mother's Day, God called home our loving and devoted mother. Bertha Blanche Alexander (Siler-Hendrix) was born on March 13, 1933 and departed this life on Sunday, May 12, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Edna Siler; son, Noris Hendrix; brothers, Earl, Robert, and Arthur Siler; sister, Amida Smith; husbands, Doris J. Hendrix and A.P. Alexander.
Bertha was a former employee of Montgomery County.
She leaves to mourn her; eldest sibling, Mrs. Demona Jackson of Saginaw, MI; 2 daughters, Mary (John) Coleman of Troy, OH and Kathy Hendrix of Huber Heights, OH; 5 sons, Doris (Dawn) Hendrix, Gregory (Velven) Hendrix of Saginaw, MI, David Hendrix of Dayton, Robert and Jeffrey Hendrix of Houston, TX; 17 grandchildren including devoted granddaughter, DeVonna Hendrix; special son/grandson whom she raised, Reno Alexander, Annette (Van) Black, Jackie and Joy Carter, Orenthal Shaw, Sandal Hendrix, Carmen (Joel) Tolbert, Shalonda Hendrix, Candice Dennie, Marquez Marbury, Deidre, Doreen, Joy Butler, Myah and Mariah Mason and Aaron Hendrix; 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Ennie Pearson of Saginaw, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special childhood friend, Mrs. Carolyn Wheat Moore and dear sister in Christ, Charlene Scandrick and family.
