Bertha A. Wood Menke

WOOD MENKE, Bertha, age 91, born December 11, 1917, died November 25, 2009. Formerly a resident of Buffalo, NY and Mesa, AZ, she has resided in Dayton since December 2004. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Wood and Lewis Menke. Bertha is survived by sons, Brian (Jerralyn) of Kettering and Gary (Irene) of Buffalo; grandson, Brenden Wood; granddaughter, Lisa Jordan (James); two great granddaughters, Kaitlyn Jordan and Maggie Jordan of Brooklyn, NY, and twin sister, Ida Geiger of Tucson, AZ, and sisters, Ann Waters of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Ellen Bald of Randolph, NY. The family appreciates the loving care by her physicians and caregivers. Bert was an avid reader and good homemaker. She was employed as a medical secretary. She was a devoted, gentle, godly mother. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
