Bert Emrick, Jr.

Bert Ronald Emrick, Jr., age 84 of Centerville, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at Pristine Senior Living of Sugarcreek. He was born January 31, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Bert and Pauline Emrick. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Nancy Emrick; sons, Bert Emrick III and Michael Emrick; sister, Phyllis Rinehart, and brothers, Richard and Jack Emrick. Bert is survived by his daughter, Katherine Emrick; son, Bret Emrick; sister, Jean Vorhees; beloved furry companion "Toby", as well as numerous other family and friends. Bert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a huge fan of Ohio State, especially the marching band and the football team. Visitation will be July 19, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
