Bernice Wesson

Bernice Wesson, 74, of Englewood, OH passed away Friday, June 1, 2012. She was born in Batesville, MS on December 13, 1937 to Perlandas and Luona Frazier. She was the third oldest of nine children. Bernice was a kind, giving, and faithful Christian woman. She was a longtime member of Mt Paran Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Lazarus Department Store and was a dedicated supporter of the Les Femmes Concerned Citizens for Cancer Awareness.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister-in-law, Anne Frazier. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, LaJuane A. Campbell and Tyree Wesson, Jr., whom she loved dearly. TWO favorite daughters and two dedicated sons-in-law, Denette (Oscar) Marshall and Chimeal (Desmond) Wesson-Haynes. Nine grandchildren: Chinene Denee' Wesson of Houston, TX, Lamar Harris of Dayton, OH, Tyrus (Michaela) Wesson of Hilliard, OH, Brandan Wesson of Cincinnati, OH, Tawana Wesson of Troy, OH, Janetta Marshall, Jaleesa Marshall both of Beavercreek, OH, Jameeka Marshall and Jarrell Wesson of Englewood, OH and two great-grandchildren: Shatiana and Rylee Wesson. She also leaves three brothers and five sisters to cherish her memory, Ezell (Grace) Frazier of Memphis, TN, Mattie Williams (Dayton, OH), Geneva Marion of Hanover Park, IL, Dorothy (RB) Cole of Memphis, TN, Perlandas (Edith) Frazier of Memphis, TN, Stella Smith of Broadview, IL, Willie Frazier of Bolingbrook, IL and Evelyn (Greg) Nicks of Forest, MS. She will be deeply missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be Friday, June 8, 5-7, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road. Service will be held Saturday, June 9 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 70 Hollencamp, Dayton, OH at 11:00. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Special thanks to Trotwood Physicians and the Miami Valley Hospital Medical Oncology Ward, especially Angel, Benita, Kee and Sarah.
