Bernard W. Brown
Bernard "Bernie" W. Brown, age 84, of Miamisburg, went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 4, 2011.
Bernie was born January 23, 1927, in Dayton, to the late Bernard Sr. & Hilda Brown.
He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Powers; and grandson, Andy Schwartz.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pauline "Polly" Brown; daughters, Jayne Fecteau and Kathy (James) Matykiewicz; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michelle) Schwartz, Mindy Schwartz, Melissa (Nathan) Roy, Zach Schoor; sister, Jean Herman; cousin, Tom (Pat) Koors, nieces; nephews; relatives and many friends.
Bernie was much loved, treasured and will be sorely missed.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 8, 2011, from 2-3pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). A memorial service will follow at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bernie's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
