Bernadette "Bernie" Baker, age 69, of Dayton, passed away July 12, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 5, 1950, the daughter of the late Orville and Josephine Eisen Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her nephew, Garrett VanDyke and her dear friend, Donna "Road Dog" Hopkins
Bernie is survived by her loving companion, Tony Blankenship; sisters, Shirley Dorton and Melanie Baker; nieces and nephews, Nikki VanDyke, Chevy Baker, Orville Snedigar and Robert Snedigar; great nieces and nephews, AnnaLiyah, Anaiyas, Robbie Jr. and 4 additional nieces; Tony's daughters, Janna Pourbaix and Christi Blankenship; Tony's grandchildren, Catie, Jaelyn and Jaxon; her "adopted" son, Donald Parker; and many close friends whom she loved dearly.
She was a member of the AmVets, Eagles and the VFW. Bernie loved to relax with nature, riding the motorcycle with Tony and shopping. She devoted her entire life to taking care of everyone, she was truly the matriarch of the family. Bernie was known for speaking the truth and always spoke her mind.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24th, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. A Celebration of her Life will begin at 7:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.
