Berdie Bates

Berdie L. Bates, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2015 in Dayton, Ohio. She was born to the late Albert T. and Blance A. Van Landingham on September 19, 1941 in Washington D.C. Berdie was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of New Carlisle. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and most of all her loving grandchildren. Berdie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Carter Bates; four children Corky, Sissy, Bill, Lisa; 10 grandchildren Aaron, Christin, Ethan, Jake, Andrea, Ben, Taylor, Mallory, Libby, Mitchell; two great grandchildren Annalysia, Michael; sister Ethel and brother Ron. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church and burial was to follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420 and Life Connection of Ohio 40 Wyoming St, Dayton, OH 45409. Berdie was a wonderful Christian and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
