Beatrice Irene Bedard

July 17, 1933 — January 22, 2014

Bedard, Beatrice Irene, age 80, of Kettering, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Beatrice was born July 17, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to the late John Robert & Beatrice Irene (Valentine) Weber.

Beatrice was a Professor at the University of Dayton for over 25 years and prior to moving to Ohio she was a Dominican Nun with the Sisters of St. Catherine de Ricci in Philadelphia.

Beatrice is survived by her son: Treffley Bedard of Hollywood, CA; daughters: Veronique Dell of Trenton, OH & Aimee Hale of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren: Alexander, Christopher, Matthew, Gabrielle, Cierra, Garrison & Blaise; brother: Richard Weber; devoted friend: Shuba Ballal; and numerous other family members and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Bernard J. Bedard and daughter: Maria Bedard.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the University of Dayton Immaculate Conception Chapel. A reception will follow the service at the Torch Lounge @ UD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Ryan C. Harris Learning Center, an adaptive computer lab for persons with disabilities at the University of Dayton, 300 College Park Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45469 or the University of Dayton Campus Ministry in memory of Beatrice. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel.
