Not your average Mom. Mom grew up early in life impoverished in the Hills of Tennessee, later moved to Dayton, Ohio. She raised her kids in the shackles of urban welfare, but encouraged her kids to break that cycle. Her efforts there were successful. She had a smile that lit up and warmed a room, and a personality that drew people close. She loved all she knew and is loved by all she knew. Mom made the most out of second chances, as witnessed by her unconditional love of family and Christ. Mom cherished her grandchildren. She died of complications from a stroke. She was one tough old bird, BEAT Cancer not just once, but four times. At the age of 75, she reaffirmed her faith through baptism in Christ.
Barbara is survived by her three sons, Larry Dean (Deborah) Tillman, Timothy Wayne (Tanya) Tillman and Richard Nolan (Angela) Tillman; two daughters, Tammy Sue (Donald ) Woodard and Michelle Lee Tillman; brother, Thurman Stocks; fifteen grandchildren, Amanda Dawn (Nick) Dambrowski (Tillman), Stephen C.
