Barbara Ann Sparks, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023, at the age of 84 in Kettering, Ohio. She was surrounded by family. Barbara was born on August 12, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio, to her late parents Eddie and Katherine Snowden. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Sparks, as well as her brother Roger Snowden.
Barbara was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. After the untimely death of her husband, she stepped into the role of both mother and father, providing unwavering love and support to her five children. In her last years, Barbara's grandchildren were her greatest joy and she spent many hours ensuring they felt treasured and adored. Her selflessness and dedication to her family will forever be remembered.
Throughout her life, Barbara faced numerous health challenges, yet she never allowed them to define her. Instead, she displayed remarkable resilience and perseverance, serving as an inspiration to all who knew her. Her steadfast determination taught us the true meaning of strength in the face of adversity.
When Barbara wasn't busy spending time with her family and dear friends Jackie, Angel, Vicki, Jeanette, and Karen, she found great pleasure in playing bingo, engaging in games of any kind, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and crafting. Additionally, she had a passion for traveling, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
Barbara is survived by her beloved children: Darryl Sparks, Brian Sparks, Jennifer Cain and her husband Jim, Tim Sparks and his wife Shannon, and Jason Sparks and his wife Katie. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Chloe, Harrison, and Eloise. Barbara is also survived by her sisters Shirley Harlow and Joane Duff, her brother Oley Snowden, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Barbara will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will continue to inspire and guide us. May her soul find eternal peace.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday November 4th, 2023, at Wright View Church of the Nazarene (1612 Superior Ave, Fairborn, OH 45324)
