Age 75 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011, at The Hospice of Dayton.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John & Irene Prince.
Barbara is survived by her husband of the past 40 years, Paul "Gene" Kessel; one daughter, Gayle Phelps-Simpkins and her husband, Rick Simpkins; three grandchildren, Craig (Kari) Plunket, Crista Plunket & Casey (Tony) Martin; three great grandchildren, Alex & Amanda Plunket and Braylon Martin; three step-grandchildren, Sophie, Eric & Blair; one sister, Sue (Charles) Kitchen; and by her extended family & many good friends.
Barbara was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Germantown.
The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Additional calling hours will be held from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Monday at the Reed Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Greenup, KY. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Reed Funeral Home with Pastors Craig Plunket & Ronnie Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Oldtown-Womack Cemetery, Oldtown, KY.
Contributions may be made in memory of Barbara to The Hospice of Dayton or the American Cancer Society.
