Barbara Jean Merritt Shade
Barbara Jean Merritt Shade, age 63, of West Carrollton, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 6, 2011.
Barbara was born September 14, 1947 in Mobile, AL to the late Raymond and Sallie Merritt.
She is survived by her son, Ray (Tammy) Shade; daughter, Lisa (Brian) Sarver; grandchildren, Zachary, Jesalyn, Gabriel, Seth, Amber, Tyler, and Austin; siblings, Donald "Donnie" Ray (Debbie) Merritt, Ramon "Buddy" Eugene (Pam) Merritt, and Shirley Diane (Donald) Rackard; her beloved cat, Skittles; and many other relatives and friends. Barbara was a fun loving person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She had a special love for books, music, the beach, southern food and gardening. She loved her grandchildren dearly and cherished every moment with them. All who knew and loved Barb will miss her always. The family would like to thank those who cared for Barb over the years for their compassion and support.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 4-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 6pm. Per Barbara's request, please dress colorful.
In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses may be made at Fifth Third Bank c/o Lisa Sarver (Barb Shade).
