Barbara June Honeywell

August 4, 1929 — April 23, 2022

Barbara June Honeywell, 92 passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on April 23, 2022. She was terminally ill with cancer.

She leaves behind four children, John Honeywell (Juliet), Danna Duncan (Edwin), Stephen Honeywell (Cricket) and Julie Honeywell McNulty (Vance). Six grandchildren, Matthew Downey, Stefanie Lawson, Brian Honeywell, Erika Calabretta and Chris Honeywell, Briana Mooney and seven great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sisters Velma McNulty (Gale) and Dixie Pate (Ray), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Dee Harkins (Harwin).

Barbara was born August 4,1929 in North Platte, Nebraska to Clarance and Alice McCarty(Sones). She lived in North Platte until her early twenties and later moved to Northern California where she spent most of her adult life. She co-owned the Serv-u-Market in Watsonville, CA and spent many years as a bus driver/trainer for the PVUSD, and the Santa Cruz County Office of Education.

Her first joy was spending time with her family. She always said how important family was to her. She enjoyed gardening and gardened into her 90's. She loved her many pets throughout her lifetime, but especially her cat Lena who gave her great comfort in her last days. She enjoyed bird watching and feeding the birds who visited her feeders, and during the winter months jigsaw puzzles kept her busy. She loved to share her story about getting to work in the Canteen as a young girl in North Platte,NE during WWII.

She attended the Union Methodist Church for many years and was active in the Ladies group.

She was truly was a great Mother and is terribly missed.
