Barbara Jean Gondos, age 78 of Brookville, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2015 at Brookhaven Nursing Center with the loving care of Hospice of Dayton and her Brookhaven team.
She was born May 21, 1937 in Detroit, MI to the late George R. and Miriam E. Jenkins. In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Alexander "Sam" Gondos; and daughter, Christine E. Gondos.
Barb is survived by her son, James Gondos; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Paul Samuels; grandchildren: Jordan and Eli Samuels & Alex, Anthony, Sarah and Alisha Gondos.
Barb graduated from Fairview High School in 1955. She will be missed by her family and friends for her love of performing arts, music, movies, country cruises, and when at her home, visiting on the porch with a glass of iced tea.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road. The family would like to thank all of the folks at Brookhaven for their excellent care and friendship during the last 5 years. Donations can be made in Barb's memory to The Hospice of Dayton or to a charity of your choice.
