Barbara Dianne Regan (Brainerd)

Regan, Barbara Dianne (Brainerd), age 70, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009. Barbara lived in Columbus for the past two years but resided in the Centerville, Kettering area for over 30 years. Being the adventurous person that she was, Barbara also lived in Massachusetts where she was born, Florida, the Philippines and Puerto Rico. Barb's husband Thomas C. Regan passed away in 2000. Her father Samuel Brainerd is also deceased; her mom Lillian is living in New Hampshire. Barbara is survived by her two children, son John Regan in Columbus with whom she did much wonderful traveling and daughter Kathleen Penrod (husband Phil) in Centerville. "Nana" has five beautiful grandkids of whom she was extremely proud of and was always there to help raise and support, Thomas, Kaitlin, Audrey, Ben and Kyle. Barbara was the oldest of eight children. Her siblings with whom she was very close and enjoyed many trips and laughs, include Kathy, Bobby, Gwen, Guy, Carol, Timmy, and Rhonda. Barb was a graduate of Bentley College with a degree in Accounting and worked at H&R Block for over 20 years as a Senior Tax Preparer and was an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. We are deeply saddened at your early departure onto your next adventure; you were such a caring, thoughtful, intelligent, humorous, and beautiful woman. Thank you for all you have given us. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:30 – 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering.
