Harold B. "Baldy" Dunaway, age 72 of Dayton, passed away March 24, 2011. He was born August 16, 1938 in Sunbright, TN to the late Joseph and Dora Dunaway. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Hatfield; brother, James; sisters: Hazel and Wilma.
Baldy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Dunaway; daughters: Cheryl (Mike) Kroetz and Barbara (Johnny) Patrick; grandchildren: Jeremy, Candace, Ronnie, Leslie, Rachel and Chelsea; great grandchildren: Cooper, Audrey, Kayleigh and Kyleigh; brother, William; sisters: Alma and Mary Jo; many other extended family members and friends, including: Dennis and Shirley Haack. Baldy is also survived by his special dog, Smokey.
Baldy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 9684, Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion, Milton Club and the 40 & 8 Club.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday. Burial to follow at Dayton National Cemetery with Military Honors to be performed by the U.S. Navy. The family would like to invite you to attend a gathering to continue celebrating Baldy's life after the cemetery at the Milton Club.
