Austin Wellborn Rushing

Austin Wellborn Rushing, 75, of Springfield, passed away December 4, 2016. Austin was born in Concord, CA on March 12, 1941 to the late Egbert and Patricia Rushing. Austin retired from GM after 32 years of service. He proudly served in The US Air Force for 8 years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Austin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Thelma Rushing.
He is survived by his sons, Ben (Brenda) Rushing, Jeff (Heidi) Rushing; granddaughters, Brittany (Sam) Burchett, Bethany (JR) Cox; great grandchildren, Jacob Cox, Hudson Cox, Benjamin Burchett, Nicholas Burchett; brother, Greg (Becky) Rushing; sisters, Linda (Brian) Spille, Teresa (Roger) Braswell; and several other relatives and special friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 5 - 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, and funeral services will be Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 10:30am with Pastor Wylie Rhinehart officiating. Burial at Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield.
