August Michael Nicolai, Jr
July 20, 1936 — March 4, 2017
Nicolai, August Michael passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. Leonard's Center at the age of 80 where he received loving care.
He attended St. Joseph's School, Chaminade High School and St Joseph Church, where he was baptized, served as an altar boy and attended masses. August was a lifetime resident of Dayton, Ohio. He was the sole proprietor, a painter and master painter under the direction of Walter Litzey for St Joseph Church, the Ohio Capital Building in addition to many notable projects. August enjoyed the outdoors, carpentry, woodworking and his faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August Nicolai and Rose (Tatone) Nicolai. He is survived by his only sibling, Grace Nicolai Ferraro and her family, his 4 children, Michael Nicolai, Tina Nicolai Spalla, Robert Nicolai, Cheryl Nicolai Steiger, and his 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
